Fueled for Success

Learning and integrating mindfulness into your day can help you center yourself and provide a better learning environment for your students. We’ll dive into different aspects of mindfulness in this year’s Fueled for Success workshops, specifically for Northern Arizona University’s pre-service teachers.

Topic #1: Mindfulness at School

Learn the basics of mindfulness, including its connection to mental health and well-being and how it is able to benefit you at work. You will practice mindfulness strategies and experience some of the immediate benefits, while also discovering the ripple effects that mindfulness can have.

Topic #2: Mindfulness of the Body

Mindfulness can have significant effects on the body. In this session, you’ll learn how mindfulness allows you to more strongly connect to your body, increasing your grounding and your awareness of what is occurring both internally and externally.

Topic #3: Create a Mindfulness Culture/Classroom

What does a mindful culture look like and how do you create one? A culture of mindfulness improves the psychological capitol of an organization and is tuned into each person’s mental health and well-being. Though this type of supportive culture may seem out of reach at times, every individual can contribute to reaching this positive goal.

Topic #4 Mindful Leadership

Leaders guide an organization’s culture, setting its tone and standard practices. During this session, you’ll experience lessons and exercises to support your work as a mindful leader.
